Katie Lafiandra

Chief Human Resources Officer

"Our people are the key to our success. Our commitment is to build a diverse, safe and resilient culture which evolves with the needs of our people and the communities in which we operate. We are dedicated to creating a workplace environment that provides a sense of purpose for our people and supports each of us to learn, develop and reach our full potential. EVO’s ESG initiatives are key to ensuring we meet and exceed our commitment to a supportive and healthy culture at EVO.”

CULTURE

The culture of a company is grounded in its values. EVO has 5 core values that support its Get. Grow. Keep. culture. All new hires receive onboarding training that describes our culture, purpose and values. We also provide annual training on our Code of Conduct and evaluate all employees on the level of demonstration of our values. This ensures that all employees are aware of our culture and that their actions are aligned with our values.  Without a strong set of values, EVO would not be the ethical, strong and dynamic company it is today.

DIVERSITY, EQUITY, INCLUSION & BELONGING (DEI&B)

Diversity in all aspects is required to have a strong company and culture. We believe a diverse, equitable and inclusive workplace which respects different points of view and collaborates to find the best path forward makes us stronger. EVO is committed to this belief and is taking action to ensure all of us are striving toward our goal of a diverse, equitable and inclusive environment where each member of EVO has a sense of belonging and the opportunity to reach their full potential. EVO’s commitment to DEI&B includes recruiting and retaining employees from diverse backgrounds and experiences, creating awareness of diversity issues and benefits, and fostering a supportive environment where inclusivity is expected and prioritized.

INTERNATIONAL WOMEN’S DAY

EVO creates awareness of issues facing women in the workplace through its commitment to diversity and equality. Each year we highlight gender equality and diversity by celebrating International Women’s Day. We host local office and global events annually. In 2021, EVO hosted a Women’s Forum comprised of 20 women throughout EVO sharing their insights and experiences as women in the workforce. We will continue to support initiatives to bring awareness to these issues and to support gender equality, diversity and women in leadership.

EMPLOYEE ENGAGEMENT

In order to ensure we maintain and constantly improve our GGK culture, we actively seek the input of our employees. We achieve this through regular employee surveys. We conduct annual surveys and we added quarterly pulse surveys to every major location in 2021 so that we could more frequently receive input from our employees on our culture, communication, training and career development. In addition, each office has an active employee engagement committee which participates in and provides input on charitable giving, company engagement events and company recognition opportunities. Our employee engagement committees have monthly meetings and coordinate activities with our Talent Management department. We believe these committees and our employee surveys are vital to constantly EVOlve, improve and maintain a strong culture at EVO.

EMPLOYEE LEARNING AND DEVELOPMENT OPPORTUNITIES

Each day our people apply their knowledge, skills and competencies to make EVO the dynamic, successful company that we are. We are committed to offering our colleagues opportunities to advance their skills, gain more knowledge in their area or further develop their competencies. We believe the best way to make this happen is to create a culture of continuous learning where our colleagues are recognized and rewarded for their efforts to enhance their skillset.

Open communication is key to creating this culture where we learn from each other and grow professionally. It’s a manager’s responsibility to coach their teams and identify employee development needs. It’s an employee’s responsibility to seek new learning and development opportunities.

Employees have the opportunity to develop through many formal and informal training opportunities. EVO also offers an extensive library of online courses at EVO University which it can assign or make available to colleagues across the globe. We leverage this library to promote learning campaigns focused on the enhancement of knowledge, skills and competencies needed to develop one’s career. Examples of EVO’s Virtual Learning Paths are as follows:

COMPLIANCE TRAINING

In addition to the many voluntary opportunities for learning and development at EVO, our employees are also required to complete compliance training as part of our commitment to sound corporate governance and compliance with applicable laws and regulations. We utilize our learning and management system through our People Development Portal to ensure that each employee completes these trainings.
